Frank Busbey, M.A. is a licensed professional counselor and a board certified Christian Professional Counselor (International Board of Christian Counselors). He also has 30 years of pastoral experience. Frank has undergraduate degrees from Luther Rice University in Lithonia, GA and Mt. Vernon Bible College (Ohio). He has a Master of Arts in Religion (Graduated Magna Cum Laude, named to 1999-2000 "Who’s Who among Students in American Universities & Colleges") from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.
After the death of his first wife, Karen, Frank attended the Psychological Studies Institute where he earned the Master of Arts in Professional counseling with a specialization in Spirituality and Counseling. He works with a wide range of issues including marriage and family, pre-marital counseling (using Prepare/Enrich), depression, anxiety, grief issues, spiritual formation, adolescents, and men's issues (including sexual addictions and midlife issues). Frank believes that professional quality counseling done within a biblical value system, with respect and compassion for the client, can bring healing and help. His passion is to help hurting people find the resources in Christ to move toward healing, growth and wholeness. You will find a listening ear, an open heart and non-judgmental compassion.
Counseling settings Frank has worked in include a Christian private practice, church counseling center, a university counseling center, a county mental health agency, hospital emergency room, and a crisis call center. He has worked with individuals, couples, families, groups and adolescents. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the Christian Association of Psychological Studies. Frank has also done extensive continuing education in treating sexual addiction and pornography addiction.
Frank enjoys spending time with his wife, Diane and family, walking his dog, playing guitar and mandolin, watching sports, and reading.
Rev. Busbey is also available for seminars on marriage, grief, boundaries, sexual addiction or pornography and pulpit supply.
